Beverley Douglas is a published author. Married to Richard they live between the UK and Gozo, Malta. Born in 1964, she grew up in Bristol with her parents and older siblings. Growing up in the 1970s there were few recreational facilities and children played in the streets or on the remaining bomb sites. Parents lobbied the local council and a safe space was provided for all children. In 1972, the Felix Road adventure playground was opened. Beverley has fond childhood memories of the times she spent enjoying the freedom of this special place. In 1983 she joined the Avon and Somerset Special Constabulary. Five years later she joined the Regulars. In 2017, after more than three decades of a full, challenging police career she retired. View more posts
